Colleen Hamilton is an award-winning journalist.

Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, New York Magazine, Teen Vogue, VICE, The Nation, Them, Time Out, The Food Section, and many other publications.

She is currently a Fellow with the Solutions Journalism Network, collaborating with Teen Vogue on a three-part series exploring youth-led responses to climate change. She also publishes The Sun Will Rise, a newsletter weaving together reporting, essays, and interviews on hope.

Colleen serves as the Editorial Director of PLAY, a cookbook-magazine with recipes, stories, and essays devoted to pleasure and liberation. Previously, she was the Managing Editor of The Wine Zine, the country’s largest print publication dedicated to natural wine.

She has led storytelling workshops across the U.S. and frequently speaks on panels about culture and climate. In 2019, she was a Fulbright scholar in Malaysia. She graduated summa cum laude (highest honors) from UCLA, and is now somewhere in the world with her nose in a book.
